Originally formed in 1958 as a Mechanic Faculty, the Automatic Production and Control Faculty offers engineer courses in four specializations, and economists — specialists in IT.
Departments:
- Production Automation
- Control Systems and Computing Machinery
- Automatic Machine-Building Technology
Specialities:
- Applied Information Technology in Economics
- Computing Machinery, Complexes, systems, and Networks
- Automatic Data Processing and Control Systems
- Technology of Machine Building
- Automation of Technological Processes and Production
The Production Automation Department trains engineers in "Automated technological processes and production" (speciality "Automation of technological processes and production", specialization "Automation of technological processes in food production").
The laboratories of the department are well equipped with automatic devices and units, electronic and microprocessor control devices, test benches and simulators.
Research in the department includes problems of multifunction control systems for technological processes and personnel training, thin-film vacuum technologies, and adaptive and optimal processes control.
The Control Systems and Computing Machinery Department awards diplomas in "Information technology and computing machinery" (specialities: "Computing machinery, complexes, systems and networks" and " Automatic data processing and control systems"), and offers an interdisciplinary course in "Applied information technology in economy".
This department has well equipped laboratories with PCs and peripherals necessary for research and development of expert systems and artificial intelligence, local networks and computer graphics.
The Department for Automatic Machine Building Technology trains specialists in "Engineering and design provision of machine building" (speciality "Technology of machine building", specializations: "Technology of automatic machine building" and "Technology and equipment of special treatment processes").
Laboratories of the department have a wide range of machine tools, control and measurement devices, control systems, and industrial robots.
Researchers of the department have a good experience in designing devices for fibre optics and optoelectronic systems for various industries, elaboration of machine parts and cutting tools strengthening with electrophysical methods, technology of amber production, as well as equipment and tools for automated amber processing.
