The Department of Foreign Languages offers all level courses in English, German, Spanish and French to students and post-graduates, including Languages for Specific Purposes. Investigations are held in the area of linguistics, teaching methodology, and pedagogics.
The History Department teaches history of Russia and the Kaliningrad Region to all students at KSTU and focuses its research on Russian history of the 19th and 20th centuries.
The Department of Social Sciences, Pedagogics, and Law specializes in political science and sociology, law, pedagogic science and psychology. It also teaches 12 optional courses. Its research is combined under one subject of "Social, political, and legal problems of the society: history and the present".
The Department of Philosophy and Culture Studies teaches philosophy and culture studies, philosophy issues in natural and technical sciences, scientific work methodology, as well as 12 optional courses to the students and post-graduates.The subject of the research: "Urgent problems of the social cognition".
The Sports Department has many enthusiastic athletes. Students of KSTU have won at national, regional and city level competitions. The department investigates new form of organization and contents of physical training of people of different ages.
