About 3 000 people took part in the traditional bike ride “KSTU-Planeta Sport”

On May 12, the traditional bicycle race “KSTU - Planeta Sport” took place. Fr om early morning, the first participants began to gather at Yantarniy sports palace. The bike ride began at 09:50 in the morning. KSTU rector V.A. Volkogon greeted the participants and wished them to overcome the distance successfully and without injuries. A graduate of KSTU, and now the head of the regional Agency for Youth Affairs, D.N. Kalinovskiy encouraged lovers of a healthy lifestyle. Denis Nikolaevich worked for several years at the Department of Educational Work and Youth Policy of the university and participated in the development of the first projects of the KSTU bicycle race. This time he also took part in the bike ride.

At 10 a.m. precisely, a column of about 3,000 people set off. Cyclists confidently rushed in the given direction. The traditional route passed through the villages of Pereslavskoe, Logvino, Cherepanovo and Lyublino. In front of the column, there was a traffic police escort car, followed by a sound machine that set the mood for the cyclists. In the end, there were technical support cars, ambulance cars and buses for those who fell out of the race. The cyclists finished at the launch site, near Yantarniy sports palace, wh ere each registered participant was awarded a commemorative medal - this year of yellow color - as well as rations: a plate of hot pilaf, waffles and juice.

Kaliningrad State Technical University thanks the participants of the bike ride for organization. We also express our special gratitude to the Department of Educational Work and Youth Policy of KSTU for organizing the holiday, as well as all the partners of the university who supported this celebration of a healthy lifestyle and sports.
