KSTU representatives took part in the commemoration event at the memorial burial of Soviet soldiers in Braniewo

On Saturday, April 27, the tenth anniversary commemoration event took place at the memorial burial of Soviet soldiers in the Polish town of Braniewo. The event was attended by the governor of the Kaliningrad region Anton Alikhanov, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Russia in Poland Sergey Andreev, the head of the Agency for Youth Affairs Denis Kalinovskiy, veterans, youth and public organizations, bikers and representatives of the Polish side. In total more than 450 people took part in it.

The governor emphasized the fact that the traditional commemorative event takes place at the largest war memorial in Europe, where more than 30 thousand Soviet soldiers are buried. Veteran Pyotr Pustovoitenko also took part in the commemorative event. He turned 95 this year, but, despite his age, he is actively involved in such events. After the 10th grade at school, he was off to the front. Pyotr Naumovich noted that events like that should be carried out for the younger generation.

The participants laid wreaths and flowers at the foot of the memorial, where they also held a prayer service for the fallen soldiers. After this, they laid flowers to the monument to Polish soldiers in Braniewo.
