The training includes theoretical and practical subjects in anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, surgery, therapy and other areas of veterinary science.

Students consolidate their practical skills at the Training and Practical Centre BalticVet, created on the basis of KSTU.

Future veterinarians learn to work with animals, apply instrumental methods of diagnostics, properly communicate with four-legged patients here.

A veterinarian is a specialist engaged in diagnostics and treatment of animal diseases, as well as their prevention and restoration of health.

Depending on their specialisation, a veterinarian can work with pets, as well as with farm, exotic and wild animals.

In addition, veterinarians play a key role in ensuring the safety of food of animal origin, controlling the transmission of diseases from animals to humans.

They also conduct research activities to investigate new methods of treating and preventing animal diseases.
