About the University
The Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Kaliningrad State Technical University" is the largest higher educational institution in the fishing industry of Russia. KSTU is a basic university of the Educational and Methodological Association for education in the field of fisheries.
KSTU is developing as a multidisciplinary university, oriented to the needs of its region and the fisheries industry of Russia. It implements professional training programs for Bachelors, Certified Specialists, Masters and postgraduate training programs for Candidates and Doctors of Science (PhD), as well as various additional professional programs for advanced training and professional retraining of specialists.
The University trains specialists in 42 specialities and areas of higher professional education.
More than 4000 intramural, about 2000 extramural, more than 500 intra-extramural (evening) students receive higher education at the university.
The scientific and pedagogical potential of the University is 567 teachers and research workers, including 64 professors, doctors of sciences and 288 associate professors, candidates of sciences (PhD), about 80 academicians and corresponding members of international and public Russian Academies of Sciences, 22 honoured scientists of higher education and other industries.
For 90 years the university has trained more than 33 thousand specialists of different profiles for the fisheries and other industries of Russia, near and far abroad countries; more than 550 specialists for the countries of Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America.
Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Kaliningrad State Technical University" was included in the national register "Leading Educational Institutions of Russia - 2009" on the basis of the proposal of the Ministry of Education of the Kaliningrad region. The certificate was issued on December 10, 2009.
