On February 8, the Day of Russian Science, the III Inter-university scientific conference of master's degree students Topical Issues of Engineering Sciences, organised by the Institute of Marine Technologies, Power Engineering and Construction, took place.
KSTU was attended by 1st and 2nd year master's degree students engaged in research in engineering sciences, as well as their supervisors and guests of the conference. This year, applications for participation were received not only from the universities of the region but also from Nizhniy Novgorod State Technical University named after R.E. Alekseev, Volga State University of Water Transport, Petrozavodsk State University. The conference attendees also took the opportunity to connect online.

The Deputy Director of the Institute of Marine Technologies, Power Engineering and Construction, E.S. Zemlyakova, opened the conference. N.A. Kostrikova, Vice-Rector for Research of the university, gave a greeting speech and also expressed a greeting from the Rector of KSTU, V.A. Volkogon. It should be noted that the wish of the Vice-Rector to establish new ties and the emergence of joint projects came true. At the end of the conference, agreements were reached on mutual assistance and cooperation on a number of scientific works.

The Director of the Institute of Marine Technologies, Power Engineering and Construction, I.S. Aleksandrov, congratulated all the participants of the conference on the Day of Russian Science and the beginning of the conference. He emphasised the importance of human resources, the development of their potential and the role of young scientists in science.

In the course of the conference, 15 reports prepared by the 1st and 2nd year master's degree students under the guidance of their scientific supervisors were presented. Topical issues of power engineering, heat power engineering, construction, structural materials, shipbuilding, marine engineering, and coastal protection were discussed.

It should be noted that the reports generated interest and discussions. The participants had an opportunity to exchange opinions and knowledge and to receive recommendations on the development of their scientific works from the experts.

We thank all the participants of the conference— master's degree students, scientific supervisors and guests! See you again!
